Our new approach

At Waste Watch we have been busy working out how we help communities to live more sustainably in ways that are postive for ourselves, society and the planet.

As a starting point, we recognise that much of what we do right now isn’t working. For example climate change and poverty are slipping down the agenda at a time when they should be at the heart of what we do.

Our new approach therefore aims to learn from current best practice and research to create and test new approaches to change (next practice). We see this as a process of collective learning for sustainability across civil society, businesses and government. Through action research we intend to monitor next practice projects to build an evidence base from which to advocate for lasting social change.

Visioning a Sustainable Lifestyle workshop

In July Waste Watch hosted a workshop with participants from across the community, business and public sectors to start to map out what a sustainable lifestyle could look like. The workshop was a success with many ideas being echoed across the groups. The report from the day tells the full story.
