Live more and waste less
Living more and wasting less is about recognising that sustainability is about the well-being of individuals, society and the environment.
Our goal is to reduce our ecological footprint (through wasting less) whilst increasing societal well-being (through living more).
We are currently exploring how we can work with communities and businesses to reduce their environmental impact through the following actions that are known to contribute towards improved well-being:
- Connect with people around us
- Be active and healthy in life
- Take notice of what’s going on around us
- Keep learning throughout our lives
- Give or do something nice for someone else
So, for example, volunteering more of our time in a local food growing group could help the environment whilst working towards all five actions for well-being described above. Another example is setting up networks that enable communities to share possessions, skills, ideas and space.
