Anna Scott (Dr) | Community engagement manager
A bit about me... I’ve been passionate about the need to protect the environment since I was ten. My PhD looked at how households go about actions like recycling and energy saving.
A tip from me... Get hold of a wireless electricity monitor to find out where you are wasting energy (and money!) in the home.

Clare Rowley | Community Engagement Officer
A bit about me... I love animals and wildlife, so in my spare time I’m usually walking my dogs, at my local community farm or wandering through a nature reserve.
A tip from me... Think hard about how much you throw away - it's vital to reduce and reuse before you recycle!

Claudia Kuss-Tenzer | Business engagement manager
A bit about me... I joined Waste Watch to keep the sustainable use of resources on the political agenda. In my spare time you're likely to find me hanging out at one of London's many jazz venues!
A tip from me... Life's not about material possessions, but about having great experiences.

Douglas Kemp | Project Officer
A bit about me... I’m about to start learning about beekeeping with my local community garden, Cordwainers Garden. Just waiting for the bees to arrive!
A tip from me... Start growing your own vegetables – cheap, easy and tasty. You don’t need a garden, even a windowsill will mean you can start growing something.

Erica Purvis | Programme Development Manager
A bit about me... I have a background in Sustainable Design and Life Cycle Analysis. For me Sustainability is not just about improving or preserving the environment but exploring your own values and challenging the norm!
A tip from me.... Take time to try and walk on some soil or grass everyday. It’s amazing how much time may pass and you’ve not really set foot on natural ground! From road, to pavement, to carpet.......... |

Julia Robb | Community Engagement Team Leader
A bit about me... I’m growing my own vegetables as I’ve moved into a flat with a terrace.
A tip from me... Get cycling – it will save you money on travel and there’s no need for gym membership. Much more sustainable!

Julia Faye Roebuck | Education Officer
A bit about me... I love making things for people and encouraging others to see the value in making things themselves, especially clothes or anything to do with fabric. I studied Fashion and Textiles throughout university, focusing on the damaging impacts this industry has on our world.
A tip from me... If you are ever in need of small pieces of fabric for craft projects such as patchwork, find your local fabric shop and ask if they can collect the small remnants on your behalf and not throw them away. So many small pieces are thrown away because they can’t be resold.

 |
Leena Patel | Education Programme Manager
A bit about me... I make my own clothes from recycling old sarees my mum never wears and things I find in charity shops.
A tip from me... If you can't live without your takeaway coffee on the way to work, take a travel mug with you to keep it warm and save on all those paper cups.

Lizzie Kenyon |Community & Partnerships Manager
A bit about me... I’m passionate about social and environmental justice have worked in the charity sector for the last seven years. In my spare time I can be found riding around London on my bike, supporting a mental health charity working in East London and Uganda, knitting for my nephews and niece, watching football and reading.
A tip from me... Try going veggie a couple of days a week. It’s better for you and for the environment.

Luna Zabalza-Gomez | Schools Engagement Team Leader
A bit about me... I believe that to take care of our planet we have to learn to love it first (love nature and the diversity of its creatures-including humans!). I also believe that children are particularly open to this learning...and that’s why I love my job!
A tip from me... Every time you are about to buy something, think first: do I really need this? Reducing our consumption habits is a great way to start living a more sustainable life. |
 |
Morgan Phillips (Dr) | Our Common Place Team Leader
A bit about me... I joined Waste Watch to be part of an organisation that is changing the way we deliver education for sustainability. Outside of work I enjoy road cycling, the longer the better and guitar; the easier the better!
A tip from me... When talking to people about sustainability, don’t just mention the environment. Our concern for it is only one influence on our behaviour, there are many, many others, explore those too.

 |
Nicola Brown | Schools Engagement Manager
A bit about me... I enjoy working with children (I always wanted to be a Blue Peter presenter!) and I feel passionately about supporting them to become green leaders of the future.
A tip from me... For local journeys, walk or bike rather than using the car, and undertake a mini audit of your home to identify where you could make environmental improvements.
|
 |
Olly Wright | Sustainability Coordinator
A bit about me... I joined Waste Watch after studying Environmental Engineering. I like music, football, cricket, tea and curry. I don't like rocket, U2 or trendy cyclists who run red lights on single-speed bikes.
A tip from me... If you don't think you like tap water, try leaving it to stand for a minute, or keeping it in a jug in the fridge.
|
 |
Pamela Kane | Education Officer
A bit about me... I love the outdoors, having fun in the sun, sand and surf and keeping fit!
A tip from me... Compost your peelings and scraps. Living in a house of eight who all love fresh fruit and veggies, we decided to get a new flatmate - 'Colin the Compost Bin'.

Thea Potgieter | Human Resources Manager
A bit about me... I've been bothered about the state of the environment for as long as I can remember - seeing people litter still makes me feel a bit faint! I also care hugely about social justice issues.
A tip from me... If you don't like something (ridiculous packaging, harmful ingredients, sweatshop labour), fire off an email and tell your friends to do the same. Voting with our feet is the best way to get big companies to change their behaviour.

 |
Theresa Greene | Flats Engagement Officer
A bit about me... I love nature and cycling! When they go together it’s even better! Even a small patch of garden can make a massive difference to feeling happy generally.
A tip from me... Think of sustainable alternatives to the things you use everyday e.g. washing powder, toiletries, etc. They are normally really easy to find and better all round. When you can get the train/ferry instead of flying, less stressful and much happier way to travel!
|
 |

A bit about me... I’ve travelled around, teaching students in South Korea, Thailand and Iraq. In my free time you can usually find me out walking, or learning traditional skills such as wood carving or basket weaving.
A tip from me... Try to spend as much time as you can outdoors. Remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing!
