Be inspired

Up and down the country individuals and communities are inspiring others to live sustainably.

Be it setting up a social enterprise, running a resident green group, organising an event or just spreading the word, the actions of local people are making a huge difference to the lives and the environment of neighbours, friends, family and colleagues.

We take our hat off to these unsung heroes and want to share some of their experiences to encourage even more people to follow their lead.

Be inspired by Doug McClaren who set up community reuse project Tayside Recyclers, Ravenscliffe High School whose pupils – despite profound learning difficulties – are trying to cut their carbon emissions, and the 1st Clanfield Scout Group who built an eco scout hut after their previous base was destroyed by vandals.

You can also nominate your own local green hero and we’ll put the best examples on our website.
