Waste Watch Conference 2011
30 July 2010
On 24 March 2011, during Climate Week, Waste Watch will play host to a major new conference in London looking at how we can create a sustainable society in an age of austerity.
The event, which will bring together community groups, schools, businesses, local authorities and government, aims to find new ways of helping communities bring about The Big Green Society.
Waste Watch is now offering you or your organisation the opportunity to sponsor or support this timely and important event.
So what is the Big Idea?
Communities across the UK are already playing a leading role in driving social change; particularly when it comes to sustainability. As we grapple with the challenges of climate change and over-consumption of the world's natural resources, communities are turning their own visions of a sustainable society into reality.
From our experience, when we all work together, we can do more. We can do it quicker and more cost effectively. And we can do it in a way that produces lasting change.
What will the Conference achieve?
It will:
- demonstrate what community empowerment means in practice
- explore how government, business and schools can create the conditions in which communities can flourish, even when faced with budget cuts
- showcase real-life examples of how this has already been achieved
The result will be an action plan made available on our new website (launching in autumn 2010).
How can you support the event?
We are looking for event sponsors. If you would like to align your organisation with this leading edge conference and demonstrate your sustainability credentials, we will offer you:
- promotion of your organisation via our website, e-newsletters and supporter networks
- your logo on marketing and conference materials
- visibility on the speakers' platform
- information in the conference pack
- guest passes to the conference
