Waste Watch achieves Green Mark accreditation

18 March 2010

Green Mark is an environmental accreditation scheme which recognises businesses and organisations who are improving their environmental performance.

Having appraised our actions and our office, Green Mark decided that Waste Watch were "to a great extent surpassing the necessary measures".

Commenting on the accreditation, Stewart Crocker, executive director of Waste Watch said, "We're very proud to receive the Green Mark stamp of approval. For us, it's important to practice what we preach and that means ensuring that our office and our operations are as environmentally friendly as possible. From ensuring paper is used on both sides to developing a sustainable food policy, we're committed to continually reviewing and improving the way we work."

Our Green Mark accreditation is valid for one year, and we will continue to push forward with improvements, hoping to achieve an even higher level Green Mark next year.

Waste Watch has signed up to the 10:10 initiative to cut our carbon emissions by 10% in 2010 and we are already working with neighbour organisations in our office building to help reduce our collective environmental impact.
