Aim
To provide a forum for UK waste educators to discuss ideas, exchange best practice and acquire new skills and tools to enhance their work.

Waste and environment educators across the UK.

What you will learn
At the conference you will:

  • find out about the latest issues affecting waste educators;
  • learn new skills, tools and ideas for school activities; and
  • make contacts within the waste education sector.

Content
This year's conference will focus on waste prevention.

Our inspiring speakers include: Kirstie Hawkes from Procter and Gamble, who will discuss waste prevention and packaging; Karen Cannard, Zero Waste Champion and creator of the rubbish diet blog; and a sector update from Lindsey Coyle from WRAP.

Participants can also choose from the following range of stimulating afternoon seminars:
- engaging students through sustainable fashion (led by Traid)
- interactive games (led by Rethink Games)
- bringing waste messages to foundation stage children (led by Waste Watch)
- activities for holiday programmes (led by The Co-operative Group's Waste Works)
- using websites and digital communications to engage schools (led by Gloucestershire County Council and Waste Watch)
- whole school approach to carbon and waste (led by Waste Watch)
- using competitions to inspire action on waste in schools (case studies presented by Buckinghamshire County Council and Cumbria County Council)
