New research into kitchen waste collections
8 June 2007
Waste Watch, in partnership with Brook Lyndhurst, is launching some timely research into kitchen waste collection schemes.
The study, commissioned by DEFRA's Waste and Resources Research & Development programme, aims to unpick the linkages between scheme design and public participation in kitchen waste collections.
The research involves detailed case studies of the operational aspects of established collection schemes as well as focus group discussions and in-home waste audits with scheme users. It is intended that the research will provide a comprehensive picture of current best practice and demonstrate how schemes can be designed to maximise public support.
A full report is expected to be published at the end of 2007.
