Requesting a Week Booking of Cycler School visits
The Cycler programme is a national project currently delivered by regional Cycler Education Officers.
Cycler the Rapping Robot has successfully worked in schools across the UK for the last 10 years, visiting over 5,000 schools and over 1,000,000 pupils. Cycler is now available to be booked by your organisation to encourage pupils to take action on waste and support local initiatives.
The Cycler package offers: - Four days working in schools, up to 8 schools and 12 performances (this needs
to allow time to travel to and from the area and administer the project)
- Performances adapted for KS1, KS2 or both age groups. Education officers
are happy to integrate information about specific local initiatives
- Pupil support materials — KS1 activity leaflet and KS2 activity booklet for
every pupil
- The Cycler three point challenge — challenges schools to initiate waste reduction
and recycling measures, the implementation of which is followed up for evaluation,
three months later.
The aim of Cycler's visit is to actually effect change and attitudes to waste
and consequently reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.
Therefore as a commitment to this we would request you undertook Cycler's 3 point
challenge as a follow up and agree to feedback information to the project.
PLEASE NOTE Cycler is now supporting the national Recycle Now campaign in schools through funding from WRAP. The cost of the week is £700 to cover all the materials,
staff, travel and subsistence.
For further information please email wendy@wastewatch.org.uk
